Energy Meter Lending Program
Saving energy just got easier.
Did you know that some electric devices continue to draw energy after you turn them off?
An energy meter can help you measure and track the amount of electricity used by various appliances and electronic devices in your home. The North Vancouver City Library Welcome Desk (main floor) now offers two metering devices for loan:
The devices are available for a three-week loan period and can be renewed and placed on hold.
The Kill A Watt Meter measures how much electricity your household appliances or other electronic devices use. Simply plug in the portable meter and appliance or electronic device and see which one draws the most power.
The PowerCost Monitor taps into your electricity meter and measures the amount of energy your whole house uses. You'll see how much energy and money you can save, simply by turning off appliances or electronic devices that you are not using.
Measuring your electricity usage allows you to make simple changes that will help save you energy and money, quickly and easily. Join the City of North Vancouver in fighting climate change. By using household appliances responsibly, we can reduce our carbon footprint and achieve a more sustainable community.
