Utility Rates
The City continues to fulfill its commitment to fiscal responsibility and to delivering high quality, reliable utility services. In 2010 the combined utility charges, which include water, sewer storm drainage, refuse and recycling levies result in a 25.19% increase for single detached residences and 3.67% for multiple unit residences. The 2010 rates will ensure that the City has sufficient funds for operating costs, capital expenditures and capital reserves. The 2010 rate changes are primarily a result of increased regional costs and an effort by the City to have the revenue received by each sector more closely reflect the resources consumed by each sector.
A 10% discount is offered on utility statements paid in full by February 26, 2010.
A 5% penalty will be applied to outstanding utility statements after April 30, 2010, and a further 5% penalty will be added to charges remaining unpaid after July 31, 2010.
Cash, cheque and debit card are the only accepted forms of payment for utility statements.
The City's water and sewer rates continue to be competitive compared to the rates of the District of North Vancouver and the District of West Vancouver.
