Current Vacancies - Committees, Commissions and Boards
Volunteering is a great way for City residents to get involved, provide input on important issues and make a positive contribution to our diverse and growing community.
The City is currently accepting applications to fill vacancies on the following Committees. The applicants must be City of North Vancouver residents:
- Advisory Design Panel - Construction Industry Representative
The appointee from the construction industry should be active in construction activities on the North Shore and should have done work within the City of North Vancouver.
- Cemetery Advisory Board
Advises Council generally on the operation and management of the cemetery and on matters related to policies affecting the cemetery.
- Board of Variance
To adjudicate appeals for minor variance to the Zoning Bylaw and rule on applications under Sections 901 and 902 of the Local Government Act.
- North Shore Advisory Committee on Disability Issues
To formulate proposals and make recommendations to the three North Shore Municipalities to provide residents with disabilities with an accessible community, free of physical and social barriers.
- North Shore Family Court & Youth Justice Committee - City Resident
Serves in an advisory capacity to the Mayors and Councils of North Vancouver City, North Vancouver District and the District of West Vancouver. Serves as a link between the community and justice system and is aware of the needs and resources of the community. Assists in the development of services, programs and resources, understands and monitors the legislation and administrative practices relating to the justice system.
