Keith Road Greenway Public Workshop
RESCHEDULED TO Saturday, September 11, 2010
City Hall
Conference Room A and B
141 West 14th Street

The City of North Vancouver is hosting a Public Workshop to bring together members of the public, City Council, and staff to help plan and design the proposed Keith Road Greenway. This working session will build on the topics brought forward by the public through the first two open houses in May and June. Teams of residents, City Council, staff, and consultants will discuss issues and work together to explore design options for the alignment of the proposed multi-use path between St. Andrew's Avenue and West Grand Boulevard. The proposed Keith Road Greenway will link Victoria and Grand Boulevard Parks and provide connections to the Spirit Trail and Moodyville Park via Queensbury Avenue and St. David's Avenue. Visit www.cnv.org/KeithRoadGreenway for more information.

Be Bear Aware
AVOID UNWANTED DINNER GUESTS

To you, garbage stinks but to a bear it means dinner! At this time of year, bears often move into neighbourhoods in search of food, but you can take some simple steps to avoid any unwanted dinner guests. Store your garbage in a secure building or try freezing your smelly garbage (like chicken and fish). Place garbage cans at the curb only on the morning of your designated garbage pick-up day. Other ways to make your home less attractive to bears include removing bird feeders between April and November, keeping your barbeque clean, feeding your pets indoors, picking fruit as it ripens, removing outdoor freezers and sprinkling lime on your compost. Green Sharrow Lane Installation
The City is taking a new and innovative approach to improving the safety and continuity of one of the City's primary cycling routes. Cyclists and motorists will soon notice shared lane pavement markings with a new green travel lane along the 100 block of West 13th Street. Known as a green sharrow, this multi-use travel lane helps cyclists and motorists share the street safely. The installation of the City's first green sharrow lane accommodates the need for two westbound traffic lanes along 13th Street between Lonsdale and Chesterfield, while taking into consideration one of the City's primary bicycle routes. Installation is scheduled to begin in August. Details at www.cnv.org/GreenSharrowLane.
